July Breakfast Meeting - Saturday, July 12, 2008

The speaker for the July 12th breakfast will be Dr. Dan Palazzolo, Professor of Political Science at the University of Richmond, and political commentator for WWBT12, Channel 12 in Richmond. The breakfast meeting will be Saturday, July 12, 2008, 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Breakfast is $10.00 per person. Bring a first-time guest and one of you will receive 1/2 off the breakfast price.

RPV Chairman Jeff Frederick will speak at the HCRC Breakfast meeting, Saturday, September 6, 2008, 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. August breakfast meeting will be held, with speaker TBA soon.

Col. Hopper Reviews Iraq Progress

Jim Hopper, i.e. "Colonel (Ret.) James Hopper of the United States Army Reserve, and a Senior Assistant Attorney General, who recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq" spoke to a fascinated crowd at the June breakfast about his experiences in Iraq, working in Baghdad on the Provincial Reconstruction Team. Its goal: to foster stablility and security. Ambitious; not easy; but progress is slowly being made. He had the highest words of praise for the men and women in uniform, and he expressed frustration with some in the State Department. To anyone who has the chance to talk to someone who has served in Iraq, by all means do so, and you will hear a much more complex story than what is presented in the news.
