Henrico GOP Breakfast – Bond Referendum
4032 Cox Rd
Unit A, Glen Allen
VA 23060
The Henrico GOP Committee will offer a special information session on the upcoming bond referendum for Henrico voters this fall at its next breakfast meeting on August 20th, 2022. In lieu of a keynote speaker, this breakfast will allow for attendees to hear from county experts as they share detailed information on the referendum, the types of projects it covers and where they would be located.
The referendum covers more than $511 million in funding for proposed county capital projects — including new and renovated schools, firehouses and parks — as part of the 2022 general election.
The referendum will appear as four questions on the ballot, with a separate question for each project category: schools; recreation and parks; fire stations and public safety facilities; and stormwater drainage. Voters may cast a “yes” or “no” vote for each of the four questions. Individual categories can be approved or rejected. Approval of a category by a majority of the votes cast authorizes the county to contract debt and issue general obligation bonds to fund the projects.
